For those people who want to become nurses, there are three things that must be achieved. The first is to enroll in a nursing program at an accredited school for nurses. The second is a graduate of one of these three programs, namely Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Associate Degree Program and Diploma Program. Finally, obtaining a license by taking and passing the national licensure examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN) administered by the National Council of State Institutions of Nursing.

Usually offered in universities and colleges will take the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at least four years. The program includes courses in the program, nursing theory, science, humanities and behavioral sciences. It also covers education for clinical practice, research, or primary health care.

The first two years of the program is more classroom instruction for courses in anatomy, biology, chemistry, physiology, human psychology, physical growth and development costs. The remaining two years is earmarked for a comprehensive care curriculum. The course includes adult patients with acute and chronic diseases, maternal and child health, pediatrics, psychiatry and community health. It also covers the extensive studies in nursing theory, bioethics, health assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, research and statistics, management and electives.
